How Does AIM Work?
See how our automated AIM solution stacks up against a manual system.
Step 1
Officer makes initial
tow request
Manual System
- Officer on the street contacts dispatch via radio to request a tow operator.
- If tow operator does not arrive then officer at scene contacts dispatch again to find another available tow operator.
Automated AIM System
- Officer uses AIM with a web-based mobile device to automatically request a tow operator
- Officer has the ability to track the location and status of the tow operator, eliminating the need to cancel and reassign
- Reduces time officer is on scene.
Step 2
Dispatch contacts
tow operator
- Dispatch manually searches for a tow operator.
- Dispatch calls one or more tow operators to find available one.
- If tow operator does not arrive then dispatch has to manually search for another available tow operator.
- Tow requests are automatic through AIM.
- Automated AIM System improves efficiency which saves time and reduces FTE costs.
- Requests are automatically rotated to the next available tower
- Eliminates dispatcher from tow process which reduces dispatcher time from 30 minutes to none.
- Allows for faster response rates from tow operators—reduces time from 1 hour to 15 minutes.
- Reduces time officer is on scene.
Step 3
Tower arrives and
vehcile is towed to
impounding facility
- Tow operator arrives at scene.
- Officer waits until vehicle is ‘hooked’ by tower.
- Officer then manually fills out and files report at station.
- Tow operator arrives at scene and officer ‘hands off’ vehicle using mobile device.
- Automated AIM System improves efficiency which saves time and reduces FTE costs
- Requests are automatically rotated to the next available tower
- Eliminates officer paperwork—reduces time from 1 hour to no report write-up
- Reduces time tower is on the scene from 1 hour to 15 minutes
- Automated AIM System not only saves time and reduces costs but also allows for new revenue through tow operator fee.
Step 4
Notification letter is
created and
distributed
- City administration or outsourced vendor drafts and sends notification letter(s) to vehicle owner.
- Automatic notification letters.
- Automatic notification letters saves time and city administration FTE costs.
- Reduces or eliminates FTE costs and sends letters within legally required time.
- Our patented AIM system takes over notification to prepare to auction unclaimed vehicles
Step 5
Impounded vehcile is
put up for auction
- Officer spends additional hours completing forms to transfer ownership of vehicle to the state in order to prepare it for auction.
- City is responsible for auctioning vehicle.
- Provides vehicle auction management.
- Assigns minimum bid and prepares for a live or online auction
- Reduces time and FTE costs associated with vehicle auction management
*Estimates are based on a new implementation of a $40 admin fee.
AIM = Net Revenue and Savings of over $486,000 in the first year
